Houston dads, we no longer have a problem. You now have your own chapter of City Dads Group.

The national fatherhood support network recently added Texas’s largest (and the fourth largest in the United States) metropolitan area to its roster, which now lists 28 chapters.

The Houston chapter is the organization’s third in the Lone Star State following Dallas and Austin.

Manuel Gonzalez is the founder/organizer of the Houston Dads Group. The father of two active toddlers runs the website The Way I Dad: a predominantly visual resource for new parents that aims to provide the answers to parenting’s everyday questions. Gonzalez says his daytime work as a safety and environmental professional helps him provide a unique and thorough perspective on sustainable consensus and gentle parenting.

Hey, y’all — the Austin Dads Group has become the second Texas chapter of the national City Dads Group social and support network. Yee haw!

This newest chapter, located deep in the heart of the Lone Star State’s capital, follows the creation of the Dallas chapter. The area, the fourth largest metropolitan area in the state, has been growing fast for decades, thanks to a thriving tech sector, a hip music and culture scene, and its college town status.

You can make a connection with the Austin Dads Group on the following social media channels:

Matt Norman will serve as organizer of the new Texas chapter. Norman, 36, is married with three children — a 5-year-old daughter, and 3- and 1-year-old sons. When not tending to his family, he writes the blog And So It Has Come to This.

“As an at-home parent, I’ve struggled with the isolation that seems to plague a lot of at-home dads. I’m looking forward to meeting other involved dads. I’m hoping Austin Dads Group can grow to a point where we can be a valuable resource for dads across the greater-Austin area,” Norman said.
