Another state capital has been added to the swelling ranks of City Dads groups with the recent addition of the Sacramento Dads Group.
Creation of the Sacramento dads outfit gives our national fatherhood support network its fifth chapter in California, joining Fresno, San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles. City Dads Group now has chapters in each of the four most-populated metropolitan areas in the state.
The group is being led by Ray La Point, a married stay-at-home father to one very busy toddler, Remy. According to the bio on his blog, Dads in the House, he is “passionate” about “learning as much as I can about child development, raising multicultural and multilingual children, supporting public libraries” and backing causes related to fighting cancer and those helping dogs.

Founded in November 2008 in New York City as a way a handful of fathers could arrange playdates and outings with their children, the organization went national as City Dads Group in 2014.
